How to open Outlook in Safe Mode?
The Outlook is an application offered by Microsoft that allows you to access multiple services from one platform. You can access your webmail, contacts, calendar, and various other tasks using this platform. This app is designed with a feature of running it in safe mode that launches the program with limited features and no extensions. Outlook Safe Mode helps to troubleshoot the issues that you might face while accessing the Outlook application. It removes the custom toolbar settings as well as disables the reading pane and allows you to use the application smoothly.
Note: Loading Outlook in safe mode and using your Windows safe mode are two different aspects. If you open your Windows in safe mode and after that access the Outlook app, then you can’t say that Outlook is accessed in safe mode.
Understand the Process For Opening Outlook in Safe Mode
There are several methods that can be performed for Outlook Safe Mode. In order to do so, you can opt for any of the methods that suit you the most.
Method 1: Using Outlook Shortcut
For Outlook Safe mode, you first have to build a shortcut of Microsoft Outlook application on the desktop of your computer system. In order to build it, you have to right-click on the blank space of your desktop. From the list of options that appears, choose New > Shortcut. A dialog box will now appear. In the blank field, type “Outlook” or choose the Outlook application by clicking the “Browse” tab. To continue, press the “Next” tab.
Once you are done by creating the shortcut, you have to press the “CTRL” key. Along with that, you have to double-click the Outlook shortcut icon to open it. When you open the file while pressing the key, a dialog box will prompt asking whether you want to run the application in safe mode or not. Hit the “Yes” tab and you are done.
Method 2: Via Command Prompt
Another method that you can use for this is through Command Prompt. Before you begin with the process, you first have to know the location of the “Outlook.exe” file. Make sure the location of the application differs with the version of the Outlook application you are using and on the edition of your OS, whether 32-bit or 64-bit.
- The first step of the process is to get the run dialog box. For this, you can either press the “Windows+R” key altogether or you can open the start menu and type “Run” in the search bar. As you do so, the run dialog box will prompt on your screen.
- Now, in the dialog box, you have to enter “outlook.exe/safe” and hit the “Ok” button,
- Thereafter, you will get the window to choose the profile. Make the selection of the default Outlook option from the list and press “Ok”.
- Doing so will start the Outlook application in safe mode.
These methods will help you to successfully run in Safe Mode. However, if you tried performing both the methods and still not able to do so. Then, you need to contact the customer support service executives. They will then help you to resolve the issue that is hindering the process.
